Meditation Pranayama Nature Sunlight Fresh air Rest Checking in with myself to make sure I’m doing all the things. I ask myself lots of important questions- everything from “have I eaten, hydrated, etc?” to “can I be ok with this? Why or why not?” This may not sound like a big deal, but some of the most potent magic comes from asking the right questions. Things like: What do I desire? What brings me joy? How can I make things simple and easeful? And, the best one is… How can life get better? When we ask the right questions, we get the best answers. If you ask over and over again “why is this so hard?” you will continue to find out why it’s so hard. Life does not require everything to be hard....
Crystals as Healing Allies

Crystals as Healing Allies

✨Crystals✨ I first began working with crystals in 1989! As a child I always collected rocks and stones, especially the pretty ones. My first crystal was a quartz point I would place on my third eye during meditation. It would vibrate! I still have it. When working with crystals, one of my favorite ways is to wear them as jewelry. I’ve accumulated many different kinds of crystal pendants over the years. Switch them out each day, depending on what kind of energy you need or are cultivating. You can do this intuitively or by applying knowledge of the energetics of the crystal. Each crystal hold certain kinds of energetic vibrations. Just having them close by is helpful! Wearing them or placing them on your body can boost your healing, break up stagnation or blocks in your energy body. You can make yourself into a human crystal grid and lay in a receptive, meditative state to achieve healing and upgrades on every level of your BodyMindSpirit. Native Americans consider crystals and stones to be Record Keepers of Earth’s history. They can also be personal record keepers. Native Americans think of these gorgeous stones as their own Nation of living beings! The Stone People. I’ll be posting more on crystals and using them as healing allies. Thank you. Stay warm and safe, loves....
On BEcoming Through Maturing

On BEcoming Through Maturing

New hair – who’s this? Truly. I’m asking this question of myself. As I confront becoming an “older, more mature” woman whose staring at the last third (or end of the third quarter) of life, I want to know Her. Exploring what it means, what it looks like, to become a Wise Woman. For the last few years I’ve been looking up older women for inspiration: celebrities , public figures, women I personally know who emulate and embody what I’m looking for. What do they look like? What do they wear? How does grey hair look? What does it mean to soften? How do they emulate grace? Are they wrapped up in maintaining youth? Are they getting facelists? Botox? Fillers? Are any of those things aligned for me? Do I want to allow the maturing of my visage? Or do I strive against the process? And to what degree? Who is in integrity with the transformation of maturing? Of this I am clear – we get to choose how we want to grow with age. To me, that means embracing certain aspects of aging, and taking the best care of my beautiful body temple, possible. Hardcore workouts are a thing of the past. My body doesn’t want or deserve punishment. It wants and deserves my love. It prefers yoga, dance, stretching, hiking and walking. My body temple doesn’t want sugar anymore. It’s communicating it’s disdain for certain foods and environments. I’m listening. Making this change in my hair is an outer reflection of the inner growth I engage. Cutting off the old, damaged hair and letting my beautiful silver...
The Feminine Wound

The Feminine Wound

I clearly recall growing up and attending public school with an open heart. I also clearly remember the feeling of being ostracized, judged and condemned by my female peers. This during the utterly difficult and confusing time of adolescence. (Add to that family dysfunction writ large.) That time was hurtful and caused me a great deal of pain. I never understood why girls behaved that way, or what prompted such ugliness. I wanted to be friends, to be liked. And, I’m loyal to a fault. There’s a cliché about girls being catty towards one another and competitive. Many clichés exist because they are true. As I grew older and left the era of public school I found true friendships and sisterhood with other women. Many of which are not just intact to this day, but are thriving, nurturing, uplifting, supportive relationships. One of my most profound experiences of sisterhood came as I worked for a short time as an exotic dancer. We were all loving and supportive of one another. Protective even. Each time a dancer would take the stage there was a recognition that sounded like “There’s _________, so beautiful, unique, doing her gorgeous, mesmerizing dance moves. My friend and ally.” And, that was certainly the case. We had to stick together and look after each other. I’ve always been the kind of person, the kind of woman who loves other women. I celebrate them, befriend them, offer my best. There’s a strange awareness that has pervaded many encounters with other women along the way, one of intimidation. I have rarely felt intimidated. Rather, they were intimidated by...
What it means to THRIVE

What it means to THRIVE

I coined a word years ago. It’s my own thing/idea about how I live. I shared it with someone last night for the first time and it was received enthusiastically, and encouraged to share it with others. Thrival. Thrive+ al This is what happens when we/I go BEYOND survival. I know many people feel like they’re just getting by right now. They’re surviving. Or they have survived some truly difficult things in life. Trauma, abuse, assault, ruin, loss, hardship, health issues, etc. We all have had to overcome situations and difficulties in life. I’ve absolutely had my share. Some of the most painful for me happened young. One example is that I was kicked out at the age of 16. I’ve been “on my own” ever since. Here’s where Thrival comes in: When faced with difficult circumstances and the crucible they provide, I have found ways to come out on top. Those things have made me who I am. A Thrivalist. I didn’t just “survive.” I freaking worked through, found the lessons, dug deep AF, confronted my $hit, and ROSE like a muthereffing PHOENIX. Each time was an opportunity to grow and go beyond what I thought possible, reach beyond my expectations of myself, and gain more out of life. And my life is extraordinary. I’ve come to see that when it’s get tough, things fall apart, $hit hits the fan, and problems occur, they happen for important reasons. Those things are often opportunities to RISE and grow, heal and move on. Die to what is or was. And be reborn to a new vision/version. Thrive is one of...
Self Care During Intensity

Self Care During Intensity

So many people are struggling and asking what they can do to help with this intense AF energy and facilitate their heart-expansion. As you read through my recommendations, note how much of this is simply doing what’s real and true, as well as how many times I’ve repeated the same advice over the years. This is not necessarily new information. It’s being echoed in order to be reinforced. Most of these things are integral to living a healthy, spiritual life. These suggestions are also useful in finding balance and bringing you back to/towards center when things are “off.” In no particular order… Meditate. This is a key that unlocks your potential. This is especially how you tune in to your inner wisdom. If you’re not already doing this regularly, now is a great time to begin. Rest. Get outside and relish in fresh air, sunshine, and the beauty of nature. Hug a tree. Lay on the ground. Look up at the sky. Move your body. Seriously, this is part of how we move stagnant energy. I’m not telling you to punish your body at the gym. I’m telling you that walking, hiking, dancing, yoga, love-making, etc., are joyful ways to move and crucial to overall health on absolutely every level of your BEing. Eat healthy, real foods – fruits, veggies, protein. Drink lots of water. And some herbal tea. Nettle is great right now. Get some Greens in your body. Things like kale, spinach, algae, chlorophyll, etc., will help your body integrate the new energy that’s downloading. These things raise your vibration. Sing, drum, scream, howl…. also ways to...
